Lubāna municipality’s Social service

The Social service of Lubāna municipality was established on August 1st, 2010 by merging the “Lubāna health and social care centre” and the Social service. The establishment has 44 employees and three divisions:1. The Social service works with clients, families and children, organizes homecare and provides services of psychologist.2. Lubāna health and social care centre has two units:
  • Health care unit, which provides medical services (gynaecologist, surgeon, day stationary, a cabinet for physical therapy) and diagnostic services (laboratory and X-ray room).
  • Social care and rehabilitation unit, which welcomes pension age clients and 1st and 2nd group disabled people, provides short-term (till 3 months) and constant social care. There are 34 beds in the unit.
 3) Meirāni paramedic and maternity nurse station, which provides medical care – receiving patients, performing medical procedures, home visits, patronage and prophylactic work – in cooperation with family doctors.

In Lubāna municipality, there are two family doctors’ and one dentist practice. 
Emergency medical service 
The first aid unit (later – emergency medical service) started its operations in Lubāna village hospital on May 5th, 1970. At present inhabitants of Lubāna municipality have access to emergency medical service, which is provided by a crew of doctors submitted to the centre of the Vidzeme region.
